Start Making Your phpBB Forum Profitable

by Mark on June 6th, 2007

How do you feel about getting into the code on your phpBB forum to plug in profitable advertising?

If you’re like me, its not quite what you want to get into. I would if I had to but, I don’t have to, thankfully.

Of course, if you are able to edit your code, once you’ve inserted an ad, what’s next?

  • Booking advertising slots
  • Maintaining a scheduling system
  • Accepting payment
  • Preparing the ad
  • Posting the ad on the agreed date
  • Making ad changes if requested
  • Handling cancellations
  • While negotiating with the advertiser at various steps

Have all that time? If you don’t here’s something for you. ForumAd Manager. Once you set up the advertising rates on the system, do you know what your responsibilities are?

Nothing, nada, zero. Go ahead and read about it but first here are

10 Great Reasons for Choosing Forum AdManager

No, I’m not using an affiliate link for this…

I recently sold off a site that featured a PHPBB forum and although I am a fan of Open Source, this program did require a lot of work. I could never get the ads to always show properly, but at least there was some clicking through that brought in measurable incomes.

FYI, I doubt that it would be a whole lot easier with vBulletin, plus I was too cheap to purchase a license!
