Web Happenings: Technorati “Authority”, a Startpage Showdown, and More…

by kris on May 6th, 2007

- After major gaming of the Technorati favoriting system thanks to come links and programs that circulated the net Technorati removed the top 100 favorited list and has instead starting dishing out “authority” ranks. The move is likely the first of many changes that should come to the service that has remained stagnant despite stellar growth by other blog services companies.

- Web Worker Daily has a showdown between and Netvibes, both AJAX powered startpage providers. I am currently a user of Google and have yet to dabble into Netvibes simply because of the convenience of the the one login Google system but since it is so highly touted I will be doing a comparison of the services in the future, specifically from an efficiency point of view

Lifehack.org has a hack for your life on organizing everything you need to in a wiki. I think wikis are a great way of organizing. Look for this topic to surface again in the future with regards to both your business, working from home, optimizing you time, and managing work and home life.

- One Tip a Day has a good list of tools you can use with . I have a twitter account but have yet to use it save several times. I will eventually be starting a series of posts here on Workboxers running down what Twitter is, tools you can use, alternatives to Twitter, and most importantly using it for your business.

- Dosh Dosh has a good how to on making money with a video blog. I do not have any experience with an exclusive video blog but I have some domains I am not using now so this might become a case study this summer. For those waiting for me to get into online money making and more importantly managing the money you make it is coming. I am still working my way into the swing of things but the posts will be coming.
