9Rules under fire; Pull up a Chair
Martin Neumann has stired the pot over at the Blog Herald with a post that discusses B5Media’s $2m VC and the comments left by the 9rules folk. Now I’ve had my fair share of 9rules flak this year, but then I did start a fire with ScrivsTyme (though I noticed the post where I got slugged has been removed from Pingsix??) :).
Okay, so 9Rules have long been the super-dooper, uber cool blog network with the classy designs but the question is … what next? Okay, the dancing videos where fun for a few minutes, the venture into porn raised eyebrows and there was talk of some advertising model being rolled out - yes folks, an actual business model.
Duncan’s podcast started it all, replying to the comments that Mike Rundle made about the newly acquired VC acquisition. A few of us have pulled up a chair (and some popcorn) over at the herald, waiting eagerly for a storm.

It’s funny to me that so many people see 9rules as successful/not-successful based solely on it’s revenue stream.
I guess you can’t just get a bunch of good people together who create good content, and be happy with that :)
