The Ultimate Developers Holiday
Just thought I’d highlight something that I wrote about on my personal blog, the Ultimate Developers Holiday.
What if you took a holiday for the sheer purpose of creating your ultimate web application, with hope of joining the ranks with successful’s such as digg, myspace and Google. Picture this, caravan within walking distance to the beach, power outlet for your laptop, cupboard full of food and drink and only yourself to talk to. This is the new-age hermit. Simply up and go, leaving everything behind.
Since the post, people have contributed positive and negative thoughts but nobody has mentioned insane. Could this be something that I embark on? With satellite Internet I could even blog daily about the development cycle and post photos of my daily journey.
This idea obviously doesn’t work with people who have family responsibilities, but a young University student such as myself - has no responsibilities during holidays. There’s that other thing .. oh yeah, the female gender, they might get in the way.
