Success is a 2 Step Process
Getting traffic. Receiving links. Spreading the word. Making money from your site. These are all things webmasters worry about, but they seem to over look the first two steps you need to make a site successful.
- Give readers what they want.
- Give readers more opportunities to find what they want easily.
In this Network I Like Cameras, Successful Blog, Escapeblog, and Jack of All Blogs do that in my opinion. The other sites, including this one, have a ways to go to reach that point, but at least having an understanding of that will help us get there.

Paul,
The question is how do we get them there? The other ones. The stragglers. These other sites have so much potential they just need a little coaching to get them pointed in the right direction.
Some of it is just presentation. I like the way Melissa presents things. She has a very creative and catchy way of luring writers into her posts.
Some of those other sites need that.

To be honest one part is me having to get more involved with them and setting up a system to get them where they need to go and figuring out how they can make their topics better. Unlike with JOAB not every site has the luxury of being controversial, but every topic deserves to be interesting. It basically boils down to more original content and that requires finding the right kind of writers.

Any suggestions the pros have for me would be greatly appreciated and welcomed. I am not afraid to admit, I have a lot to learn.
