PR Update Highlights

by Paul on October 21st, 2005

Yesterday I mentioned that Google was doing a public PR updated and I thought it would be interesting to see how everyone fared. Here are some highlights for sites that I am involved with:

Very happy with the results and I expect all the Fine Fools sites that I add in the next two months to achieve a PR 6 if they can avoid the sandbox. Did you see any increases or decreases?

Hey I have three blogs, all had Pagerank 0, and now they are 5,5,3. It just happened overnight due to the PageRank upgrade. I really don’t know why, although I’m pleased, everybody’s pleased because all have higher PR. Maybe Google just added more PageRank, now the top must be PR 20. :P

Yep… all the wurk.net sites hit PR3 from a standing start a couple of months ago, which I was reasonably pleased with. And it was only today that we started appearing in Google searches.

Well, I’m not sure. My personal site is a 5 and perfectfifths.com is a 4. I don’t remember what the personal site was before, since I don’t really pay that much attention to PR - it doesn’t mean that much anyway. perfectfifths.com is a new site, so I guess it must have been 0 before.

No change at http://www.456bereastreet.com/ - still PR 7. My coffee blog, http://www.kaffesnobben.com/ went straight to PR 5, which is better than I thought.

Our site jumped from PR 0 to PR 4. Still needs some work to be in the PR uper 5 league.

I have only started blogging seriously over the last six months ago or so and have been really happy with the PR update. Going in I had 2 sites that were a PR of 2 and now I have four sites that are a two, two sties that are a three, one site that is a four and one site that is a five.

Trouble with these updates is that I have not seen any increase in traffic over the last week at all so I wonder if these are just adjustments that have already been implemented in the SERPs and perhaps they reflect the freshness and changes to the site more than the actual traffic that the sites bring in.

    PS3Blog.net went from 4 to 5. HDBlog.net stayed at 5.

I can’t seem to gain much traction. How do you do it?

all of our completely new b5 blogs went from 0 to 6 or 7 which to me shows that PR really isn’t that accurate these days. Of course I think our sites are great - but when a site can go to a PR of 7 in 6 weeks you’ve got to wonder :-)

HDBlog.net just went up to 6! I’m a happy man.

My main PR stayed the same at around 4, with fluctuation between 0 and 5 on various pages. Most closer to 0. :)

Scrivs I haven’t checked up on you in a few months — you’ve been busy, man!

    Mine went from a PR6 to a PR5, that’s kind of a bummer. My brother’s went from a PR0 to a PR5.

I didn’t know the PR could change depending on what page of a site you’re on.

I’m up from 3 to 4. Which is nice, but page rank isn’t something I really pay much attention to, anyway.

I’m very pleased, my main site is now (publicly) a PR 6 from nothing and is in the DMOZ directory. Thanks for your help a while back about asking Google why might site wasn’t indexed for so long even though it had good incoming links and such.

    Hi Engin,

Unfortuantly nobody really knows then a PR update is done by Google, though I believe it’s every 3-4 months?
