What Should I Write About?
I might be spreading myself thin on the blogging scene since I have been working hard on the company and other sites. That means that topics don’t come to mind as easily as they used to with this site. Therefore, I figured if you would like to hear my opinion on a topic then post a comment and I will write an entry about it.
Keep it focused on discussions relevant to this site please. Entry will include linkback to your site.

You do a lot of writing on the what, and the theory. I think maybe sometimes you should focus more on the how. Not so much how money can be made online, because most of us who read this blog religiously already know how.
I think you should dedicate a few detailed entries which more than less outlines the steps of launching, maintaining, and implementing money making blogs. Sure a lot of us already have the basic idea down. But I’m sure there is some things you could teach us, then in the comments there are surely something we can teach you.

Promotion, promotion, promotion. I know it’s the hardest part for a lot of people. Just exactly how to gain incoming links. Yeah, good content breeds links… only if you’re already widely known. Just how to pick places to advertise. Just how to go about getting people to participate in contests, etc.
That’s always my biggest issue I know.

Noticed that you’ve got overture links in your RSS feed - write about that - how’s it going, how did you get into the program etc….

How’s the new layouts working for you? Since you applied this new simple-but-content-filled theme to several of your websites did you notice any increase in time people spent at the site or any other positive results?

Do site reviews like you did on whitespace. Only this time you’ll review the money-making possibilities of that site, what you’d do with the site if it was yours, which programs you’d use, where to place ads, how to promote that particular site and so on. In other words, be very to the point and talk about actual stuff to do - suggest ways to implement your ideas - instead of just theory.
Another idea: experiment even more with the layout on one of your own sites, including some crazy ad placements you would never have done because of the designer in you etc. (In other words: how would the site perform if you turned it into ugly?)
Maybe 2-week experiments with a number of small updates on how things are going during that period (3 to 5 updates maybe).

Struggling to get my head around datafeeds from the likes of Amazon!!! Useful tips and advice would be a great help.

Just the thoughts which come to my mind which I would like to see you (but also others) to blog about, because I would find your take on it interesting.
Seeing the Dreamhost banner on your site I would be interested in your experience (search for dreamhost in the searchbox resulted in nothing).
I am considering a transfer to another host and would therefor be interested in how a host like dreamhost may be interesting (good or bad). I don’t live in the US, so I have only few experiences with it.
Having a reliable domainprovider is essential basic on making money online.
Paying bills is getting easier these days and with Adsense finally transfering money to my bank account directly made it less painfull for an international user. Are there programms available which are known to pay and work with international users?
Speaking of that I find it annoying that Amazon has no mechanism to select my shoppoing point.
They do recognize me via cookie (always creepy to see my name on such webpages), but I as a publisher would like to say “Take this ISBN and whenever a customer clicks on this, recognize where he is from and do offer international / local selection on it, so he can purchase it at his country or for example the US - so I would not have to enlist in all those programms.”
Which leads to the point: How many international readers do you have and how can they use your advertisements (=why should they click on it) if they serve content irrelevant for me?
As Darren has posted on his blog, he has many international readers which are not any bit interested in local australian shopping.
And so on. I am a qualified ideawoman, give me a skypecall if you need more ;)

For a while you had sponsor ads that I supposed you created yourself. Can you give us some information on running a custom sponsor ad program? Was it worth it? It would be interesting to know about setting rates, collecting payments, communication with sponsors, what technology you used to update ads, etc.

I’d like to see something like a “dictionary†of affiliate programs or ad companies that bloggers can use. Just learning about how to monetize a site, reviews and tips on how to use these different programs, including advice on site layout for various kinds of ads, would be very helpful. You’ve already got some of this, and more would be great!

Just a general comment somewhat on topic with content is that I think your article length is too long for the web. I’m someone who would really benefit from personal finance tips like I guess what you are now doing over at Big Money Tips but when I see the length I don’t even start reading because I just don’t have the time for the massive article. Maybe breaking it up into 2 or 3 parts would be better. Just a suggestion.

Maybe a quick post on how you personally handled the taxes for you income from all these affiliate programs? Did you deduct your costs, such as equipment, software, hosting, etc.? I’m sure many more people will have this question next year.

Scrivs, this is something I’ve been meaning to email you about privately, but here’s what I’d love to hear about.
(Forgive me if you’ve already answered this, and if so, perhaps a link to the previous explanation?)
I’m curious about your business model on the group blogs.
1- How do the individual bloggers get compensated?
2 - I know there’s adsense money coming in… how do you split it up?
3 - Do you reward based on output, or on the clicks that each article generates?
3a - If the latter, how do you track that? (i.e. do you enter an adsense URL channel for each entry or something similar?)
Just curious what your model is, how you manage it, etc.

Hey Carson, the answer is they get 100% for whatever they write. This model won’t be used for future sites, but my goals were different in the past.

What about articles from other sources? Do you take them and post it in your site and link back the original author, or you should ask the author for permission first?
